Game Preview

The Colorado Eagles return home for the first time since March 8th. Colorado was scheduled to play Bakersfield last weekend, but the series was postponed due to roster constraints impacting the Condors. The Eagles last played March 27th and suffered a 4-3 loss to the Henderson Silver Knights. Colorado earned goals from Kiefer Sherwood, Luka Burzan, and Conor Timmins, while goaltender Peyton Jones suffered the loss in net, making 21 saves on 25 shots. The Eagles outshot the Silver Knights, 45-25 in the contest while going 1-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Eagles will begin a six-game homestand beginning with four straight games against the Texas Stars. Texas dropped their last game 5-2 against the Iowa Wild and extended their losing streak to three games. The Wild recorded 45 shots on goal in the victory, outshooting the Stars 25-4 in the second period.

Tuesday’s matchup will be the eighth time the teams have faced off against each other since Colorado joined the AHL in the 2018-19 season. The Eagles lead the all-time series with a record of 5-2-0 against the Stars including a mark of 4-1-0 in games played at home. The Eagles will face the Stars eight times this season including four times at the BEC.
