Goaltender Adam Werner will start in net tonight when the Eagles take on the Ontario Reign for the second time in a three-game homestand. Werner was reassigned to the Eagles on Thursday.
Tonight is the fourth of six meetings between the Eagles and Reign this season. Colorado is 2-1-0 against Ontario so far. The Eagles will finish the homestand against the Reign on Saturday and then travel to California to conclude the series on May 9th.
Ontario forward Rasmus Kupari scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway at the 7:03 mark of the third period to propel the Reign to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday. Sheldon Dries and Ian Scheid both netted goals in the loss, while rookie forward Alex Newhook collected a pair of assists. Ontario goaltender Matthew Villalta earned the victory in net, making 29 saves on 31 shots.
The Eagles are expected to have a slightly different roster from Wednesday night. On Thursday, the Avalanche reassigned goaltender Adam Werner, defensemen Keaton Middleton and Dan Renouf, along with forwards Martin Kaut and Miikka Salomaki to the Eagles. Earlier this week the Avalanche signed defenseman Justin Barron to an entry-level contract. Barron was a first-round (25th overall) draft choice of the Avalanche in the 2020 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound blueliner recently concluded a four-year career with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. Barron posted 23 goals and 89 assists in 186 games with the Mooseheads, he also served as team captain for Halifax during the 2020-21 campaign. Barron is expected to make his professional debut tonight.

Colorado - Ontario Connections
Reign defenseman Mark Alt was the Eagles captain from 2018-2020. Alt signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Los Angeles Kings in October of 2020. Also from the Reign, forward Mikey Eyssimont is a native of Littleton, Colorado.
