Eagles Seek Redemption in Sunday Matinee

The Colorado Eagles will faceoff with the brand new Abbotsford Canucks for the second of two weekend games this afternoon at 3:05 pm.
Abbotsford goalie Spencer Martin turned aside 43 of the 44 shots he faced, as the Canucks handed the Colorado Eagles a 2-1 loss on Saturday. Defenseman Ashton Sautner and forward Phil Di Giuseppe each found the back of the net for Abbotsford, while forward Kiefer Sherwood scored Colorado’s lone goal in the defeat.
The Eagles outshot Abbotsford 43-18 in the contest, as Colorado finished the night going 1-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

Colorado - Abbotsford Connections
Former Eagles forward and assistant captain Sheldon Dries now plays for the Canucks after spending the last three seasons in Colorado. Dries led the Eagles in goals in the 2019-20 season with 21 goals before the season got cut short.
Canucks goaltender Spencer Martin spent the 2018-19 playing in Colorado, registering the most saves in a single Eagles game at 68, and a team-record 25 save third period. Martin then signed with the Tampa Bay organization and spent two years with the Syracuse Crunch before making the move to Abbotsford.
Forward Brandon Cutler, who started the season at Eagles training camp and playing with the Utah Grizzlies, now plays for the Canucks.
