Eagles On the Road for Final Time This Season
May 5, 2021
The Colorado Eagles look to snap their three-game losing streak as they hit the road for the final road trip of the regular season against the Bakersfield Condors.
Wednesday’s matchup is the third contest between the two clubs this season and the first at Mechanics Bank Arena. Colorado won the previous game on April 14th in Loveland with a score of 6-2. The series is tied 1-1.
Colorado forward Alex Newhook netted a pair of goals, while defenseman Justin Barron earned the first two points of his pro career, but it would not be enough as the Eagles fell to the Ontario Reign, 5-4 on Saturday. Eagles forwards Sampo Ranta and Ryan Wagner also lit the lamp in the loss, while goaltender Jonas Johansson suffered the defeat in his Eagles debut, allowing five goals on 25 shots.
The Eagles roster will look different from their last game after the Colorado Avalanche recalled forwards Jayson Megna and Alex Newhook, defensemen Dennis Gilbert, and goaltender Hunter Miska on Sunday. The Eagles recalled defenseman Kevin Davis and goaltender Kevin Carr from the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies on Monday.
