Eagles Host Stockton for Pot of Gold Game

The Colorado Eagles will face the Stockton Heat for the last time this regular season at home Saturday at 7:05 pm MST.
The Eagles picked up their second victory over the Heat last night with a comeback 4-3 tally. Stockton opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal from Jakob Pelletier. Connor Zary would add to the Heat lead early in the second period. Jean-Luc Foudy would then get the Eagles on the board, scoring his sixth goal of the season. Andreas Wingerli would add a powerful short-handed goal, sending the teams to the locker rooms tied at two.
The Heat added a controversial power-play goal in the third period from Matthew Phillips. The play was reviewed for possible goaltender interference but was ultimately ruled a good goal. Jayson Megna would tip in a shot from Martin Kaut to tie things back up at three. Shane Bowers netted the game-winner near the end of the third period. Stockton would pull their goalie and the Eagles had multiple chances at an empty-net goal, but time would run out and leave the final score at 4-3 in Colorado’s favor.
