Eagles Host San Jose in Holiday Matchup

The Colorado Eagles will face off against the San Jose Barracuda in the teams’ fifth matchup of the season at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland on Tuesday.
The Eagles last saw the Barracuda in California on Wednesday, December 15, where they suffered a 10-5 loss. San Jose forward Evander Kane scored a goal and three assists in their matchup with Colorado. Five Eagles players notched goals last week including co-captain Jayson Megna, forwards Shane Bowers, Dylan Sikura, Martin Kaut and defenseman Rob Hamilton, but the Eagles still did not come out on top. Goaltender Justus Annunen allowed eight goals on 32 shots during his near 50 minutes of play.
The Barracuda are coming into the game off of a 4-1 victory against the San Diego Gulls, and the Eagles are returning to Loveland following a 5-2 loss to the Stockton Heat. Colorado has gone 1-3-0 against the San Jose Barracuda this year but will look to notch a win against the team tonight.

Roster Report
The Colorado Avalanche have recalled co-captain Jacob MacDonald, defenseman Jordan Gross and forward Alex Newhook. The Eagles have also called up defenseman Luke Martin and Charles Edouard D’Astous as well as goaltender Trent Miner from the Utah Grizzlies.

Former Colorado Eagles captain Mark Alt is now an alternate captain for San Jose. Keaton Middleton spent two seasons with the Barracuda before coming to Colorado. San Jose captain Jaycob Megna is the brother of Eagles co-captain Jayson Megna who is currently recalled by the Avalanche. San Jose defenseman Nicolas Meloche played two seasons for the Eagles and won a Kelly Cup with Colorado in 2018.
