Eagles Go For Five in a Row Against Silver Knights
Mar 26, 2021
The Colorado Eagles will square off against the Henderson Silver Knights in the second game of a three-game series. This will be the fourth matchup between the two this season.
Colorado continued their win streak on Wednesday night with a 5-2 victory over the Silver Knights. This marked the Eagles’ first win against the Silver Knights this season after dropping the first two games at home earlier this month. The Eagles were led by Martin Kaut and Kiefer Sherwood as both netted a goal and contributed assists with two from Kaut and one from Sherwood. Goaltender Hunter Miska earned his second win of the season, stopping 20 of 22 shots moving him to 2-0 on the year.
The Silver Knights are 13-3-0 this season and were handed their first home loss of the year Wednesday night. Pavel Dorofeyev continued his good play with his fourth goal of the season at 8:02 in the first period giving the Silver Knights a 1-0 advantage early. However, the score stood 2-1 in favor of the Eagles at the end of twenty minutes. The defensive struggles of the Silver Knights continued in the second period and a goal at 18:22 from Ben Jones was only enough to make it 4-2 Eagles. In the third period, the Silver Knights came out with strong offensive pressure but blocked shots and Hunter Miska proved too much and the Henderson Silver Knights fell, 5-2.
