Dries Recalled to NHL, Eagles Sign Forward VanWormer

WINDSOR, CO. – The Colorado Eagles, proud AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that forward Sheldon Dries has been recalled by the team’s NHL affiliate, while forward Jared VanWormer has been signed to a professional tryout agreement.
VanWormer comes to the Eagles from the ECHL’s Kansas City Mavericks where he has posted 17 goals and 23 assists in 44 games this season. The 6-foot, 200 pound forward has also notched one assist in four AHL games this season with the Milwaukee Admirals. VanWormer is coming off a rookie season in 2017-18 in which he generated 22 goals and 20 assists in 72 contests with the Mavericks.
Dries returns to the Avalanche where he has collected three goals and three assists in 34 NHL games. He has also netted one goal and four assists in 13 contests with the Eagles.
Colorado returns to action when the Eagles conclude their three-game road trip against the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Saturday, February 23rd at 7:00pm MT.
