Colorado Visits Abbotsford for British Columbian Debut
Mar 11, 2022
The Colorado Eagles will face the Abbotsford Canucks on the road for the first time tonight at 7:00 pm MST.
The last time the two teams met was a month ago at the Budweiser Events Center and the teams split the series. The Canucks took the first game, with both of the Canucks goals coming in the second period of play. Kiefer Sherwood was the only Eagle to score, netting a power-play goal with five minutes left in the game, ruining what would have been a 44-save shutout for former Eagles’ goaltender Spencer Martin.
The second game of the series went to Colorado. Martin Kaut and Mikhail Maltsev each scored two goals, with Maltsev securing an assist on Kaut’s second goal of the night. Former Eagle, Sheldon Dries of the Canucks, tried and failed to carry his team to the victory, scoring the only two Abbotsford goals, both coming in the second period.
