Colorado Re-Signs Forward Jayson Megna

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Jayson Megna to a one-year contract for the 2020-21 campaign.
Megna, 30, recorded 34 points (18g/16a) in 43 games for the American Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles during the 2019-20 season, finishing second on the team in goals and fifth in points. He also appeared in eight games for the Avalanche (0g/0a).
Megna has recorded 20 points (10g/10a) in 121 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks and Avalanche. He has tallied 203 points (98g/105a) in 355 total AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Hartford Wolf Pack, Utica Comets, Hershey Bears and Eagles, while adding 21 points (8g/13a) in 42 postseason contests.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native played one season with the University of Nebraska Omaha (2012-13) after two campaigns with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL (2009-11). The 6-foot-1, 195-pound center served as the Roughriders’ team captain during the 2010-11 season and tallied 58 points (30g/28a) in 60 games en route to earning USHL First All-Star Team honors.
