AVALANCHE RE-SIGNS MEGNA

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Jayson Megna to a two-year contract through the 2022-23 campaign.
Megna, 31, skated for both the Avalanche and the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Colorado Eagles, in 2020-21 and was a mainstay on the Avs Taxi Squad throughout the campaign. He recorded two points (0g/2a) and a +2 rating in seven appearances with the Avs, and finished the regular season with nine points (7g/2a) in 13 contests with the Eagles. His seven goals were tied for third on the team.
Megna has recorded 22 points (10g/12a) in 128 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks and Avalanche. He has tallied 212 points (105g/107a) in 368 total AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Hartford Wolf Pack, Utica Comets, Hershey Bears and Eagles, while adding 21 points (8g/13a) in 42 career postseason contests.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native played one season with the University of Nebraska Omaha (2012-13) after two campaigns with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL (2009-11). The 6-foot-1, 195-pound center served as the Roughriders’ team captain during the 2010-11 season and tallied 58 points (30g/28a) in 60 games en route to earning USHL First All-Star Team honors.
