HOW IT ALL BEGAN
In 2012, Colorado Eagles owner Martin Lind was made aware of a Larimer County Sheriff officer’s child, who was in need of a liver transplant. The financial impact on the family for this life-saving procedure would be significant. From there the Pot of Gold fundraiser game and mission began.
MISSION
Utilizing our platform and the involvement of our community members as a whole, from our fans, team, and staff; to our corporate partners, and local area sheriff's offices to help make a positive impact and support a family within our local communities experiencing a financial burden and hardship from the care of a child with a serious illness.
OVERVIEW
Annually, a child who meets the criteria above is selected as a recipient. Donations are collected from the Pot of Gold game and Irish-themed game-worn jerseys are auctioned off to raise money for the beneficiary. Each year the jerseys feature a Celtic knot shoulder patch in which past year's Pot of Gold recipients' initials.
