Away Game Preview: Game 36, Eagles at Condors

On The Ice

  • BIRD BATTLE- Colorado is 3-1 against the Bakersfield Condors this season and have been led by forward Erik Condra who has collected five points in those previous four meetings. Defenseman Calle Rosen has generated a goal and three assists, while A.J. Greer, Sheldon Dries and Logan O’Connor have all posted two goals and an assist. On the flip side, Bakersfield’s Evan Bouchard and Luke Esposito each have three points through four games against Colorado, while forward Tomas Jurco has registered two goals in two contests. Eagles goalie Adam Werner is 1-0 against the Condors with a

    1.00 GAA, while Hunter Miska owns a 2-1-0 mark against Bakersfield, including a 43- save shutout on November 15th.

     

  • BOW DOWN- Rookie forward Shane Bowers has been a regular fixture on the scoresheet as of late. The 20-year old center is currently riding a six-game point streak (4g, 3a), having scored goals in each of his last three contests. Bowers has only been held without a point twice in the past 13 games (6g, 7a) and now has amassed 17 points in the first 27 games of his rookie season.

     

  • SHOOTING FOR A WIN- Colorado currently sits fourth in the AHL in shots per game with an average of 32.17 shots per contest. Defenseman Jacob MacDonald leads the team with 91 shots through the first 35 contests of the season, while forward Sheldon Dries is close behind with 89.

     

  • TAKE THREE - The three-goal plateau has been a critical indictor of success for the Eagles this season. Colorado is 18-3-2 when scoring at least three goals in a game. Conversely, when netting two goals or fewer, the Eagles have a record of 1-10-1.

    Colorado has been lighting the lamp on a regular basis this season, ranking 9th in the AHL with an average of 3.26 goals per contest and have been averaging 4.27 goals per game over the last 11 contests, going 8-2-1 during that stretch.

     

  • FEEL THE WERN- Eagles goaltender Adam Werner comes into tonight’s contest having collected victories in six of his last eight starts, sporting a record of 6-1-1 in that time. He also notched his second shutout of the season in a 30-save blanking of the Manitoba Moose on January 3rd. The 22-year old also made his NHL debut this season the Colorado Avalanche, combining with former Eagles goalie Pavel Francouz for a 40- save shutout of the Winnipeg Jets on November 12th.
