Riley Nelson

Special Consultant , hired in 2014

As the only player to play for the Eagles in each of their first 11 seasons, the Cranbrook, British Columbia native takes on the role of Special Consultant to handle advanced scouting of the team’s upcoming opponents.

In addition to scoring the first goal in Eagles history on October 17, 2003, Nelson also captured two CHL championships with Colorado, was named the CHL’s MVP in 2011, was a three-time member of the All-CHL Team (2009, 2010, 2011) and was selected to the CHL All-Star Team on two different occasions (2007, 2010). Nelson was voted the CHL’s “Best Overall Player” in 2009, 2010 and 2011, while also being named the CHL’s Man of the Year in 2007.

Nelson holds team records for games played (657) goals (303), assists (489) and points (792). He also served as the Eagles captain from 2009 to 2014.
