WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that they have re-signed Ryan Harrison for the 2017-18 season. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward posted nine goals and 28 assists in 61 games with Colorado last season, finishing the year at a +19. He would also go on to collect three goals and eight assists in 20 playoff games, culminating in his first Kelly Cup Championship.
“Ryan brings tremendous energy and work ethic every single night,” said Eagles head coach Aaron Schneekloth. “He was extremely versatile for us as a player last year, taking on a variety of roles during the course of the season. We’re very happy to have him back in an Eagles uniform.”
Harrison made his professional debut with Oloftroms IK in Sweden during the 2015-16 season, posting 16 goals and 21 assists in 34 games. Prior to moving to the pro game, the 25 year-old spent two seasons at the University of Calgary, registering 12 goals and 26 assists in 51 games with the Dinos. The Vernon, British Columbia native also played five seasons in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, Medicine Hat Tigers and Everett Silvertips. In 325 WHL games Harrison amassed 225 points, including 79 goals. He also attended the rookie camp of the Vancouver Canucks in 2011.
“I’m extremely excited to come back to Colorado,” said Harrison. “Last year couldn’t have been a better experience and capping it off with a championship was absolutely incredible. I’m obviously excited now to move into this next season with an opportunity to try to win another one and make it back-to-back championships.”
