WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that they have agreed to terms with veteran defenseman Teigan Zahn for the 2017-18 season. Zahn posted three goals, 10 assists and 219 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games with Colorado last season. He would go on to generate five assists and 16 PIM’s in 20 playoff contests, en route to an ECHL Kelly Cup Championship.
“Teigan has been a tremendous leader since arriving in Colorado three years ago,” said Eagles president and general manager Chris Stewart. “He brings a wealth of experience, toughness and character into our dressing room and we are looking for him to lend that presence to our team once again this season.”
Zahn was a 5th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2008 and has registered 10 goals, 34 assists and 686 penalty minutes in his three seasons with the Eagles. The Regina, Saskatchewan native previously served as the captain of the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League and also boasts 13 games of experience at the AHL level with the Oklahoma City Barons and Norfolk Admirals.
“I’m really excited to be back in Colorado,” said Zahn. “When you look at everything here from the fan support to coming off a championship run last year, going out and trying to repeat should be a great challenge and a lot of fun.”
